EqOpTech, a Los Altos nonprofit founded by a MVLA student, is seeking functioning laptops (Windows & Mac), chromebooks, tablets and iPads with appropriate power adapters for students in need.

Collection drives are ongoing at Santa Rita Elementary School. The nonprofit works to connect students with limited technology access to cloud-based applications including Google applications to do homework.

Each laptop will be refurbished to its full functionality with operating system and removal of all personal data prior to redeployment.

To donate, please drop off device(s) at Santa Rita Elementary School office (700 Los Altos Avenue, Los Altos) 8:30 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday except school holidays. Please disable any password prior to donating. All donations are tax-deductible. Tax receipt will be provided upon request (e-mail contact@eqoptech.org). For more information, visit www.eqoptech.org

EqOpTech (short for Equal Opportunity Technology) promotes equal access to technology and STEM education. We are a Los Altos 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that refurbishes used computers to deploy to at-risk students in the Bay Area. Over the last 3 years, we have refurbished and deployed hundreds of refurbished laptops to Los Altos, Mountain View, East Palo Alto and San Jose students. Our computer project has been featured by KPIX 5 CBS here.

Our Equal Opportunity Technology program is made possible thanks to Los Altos Community Foundation community grant award. Visit here for more information. We are most grateful to our partners, sponsors and donors for their continuing support and generous donations.
